the post office

Today was a monumental day. My friend, Sarah, has 2 kids- the girl's birthday was 2 months ago and the boy's birthday is in 2 months...so it made perfect sense to finally ship their birthday things in the same package today.

So I enter the post office with a full bladder & empty stomach & and stand in a line that is reminiscent of Christmas. Finally, I am leaving the building when I realize, to my dismay, my keys are sitting in a nice pile on the front seat of my car and of course the doors are locked. Ooops!

Now you might just say "take out the cell phone and call AAA" only I had just talked with my sister and killed the battery 1/2 hour before. There is nothing like a stranded feeling.

As I scanned the people flowing through the parking lot, I wondered if anyone would even stop to help me. Would I if someone came up to me? There's weird people out there. Fortunately, the first lady I hollered at stopped and took out her cell phone for my distress call to Charles.

As I was waiting under a nice-sized shade tree, I looked around for something to keep my mind occupied...keep in mind I am waiting for AAA, Jeremiah had decided to use my bladder for a pillow and my tummy had long ran out of breakfast- something had to occupy my mind. But all I could find was a lonely rolly-polly that quickly scooted under some leaves. Well, that was short lived. So I decided on people.

Just in my time under that tree, 91 people of all shapes and sizes, some obviously in a hurry, others just enjoying their Saturday morning, pulled up in their unique modes of transportation to either get mail or send it.

Which made me wonder- why do so many people have PO boxes? And how often do you check it?

At first I thought you were going to say you forgot your wallet... but then no it was the keys. Man that sucks! Then to top it off with a full bladder... man thats rough.at least tho I have something to look forward to in the mail... I don't have a PO box and for this I am SO thankful ... I have a hard time getting in there to even mail a package!
I will probably call you sometime this week.... Loves, ME

91 people? that seems like a lot for a Saturday. Poor you! Locking keys in the car, on top of being 34 weeks pregnant? And with a full bladder? And hungry?? Sheesh.
