A bit of background:
When Char & I were dating, we went out to a place called "big falls, little falls" but unfortunately as we were crossing the creek one of the fifteen times, his truck sucked in water in the intake thingy & it stalled & eventually died. So we were stuck in the middle of the creek with no cell phone reception and forced to wade back through the 7 creek crossings we had already crossed to find help. Long story short, it was on that walk I told Char I loved him for the first time, met my future brother-in-law for the first time (he came & rescued us) & really had a great day :) Some weeks later, Char brought me back out (successfully this time) & proposed to me over a picnic lunch overlooking the "big falls".
Life got busy, we've had a couple a kids, and we haven't been out there since- until this weekend :) As we crossed "creek crossing #7", we had a moment of silence, stillness, & a picture before heading on to our destination.
That sun was intense! And the hike was, well, it whooped me. Sad to say, I'm not in the shape I used to be. Plus Zeke only walked for a few seconds & then he piggy-backed on me the rest of the way.
We saw many deer, lizards, hummingbirds, dragonflies, & butterflies along the way (this was the only photogenic one)

I just love little boys in bucket hats- you've got a couple of cuties there. I'm glad you all didn't get stuck in the creek this time around- can you imagine with two little ones on your hands, yikes! I shudder at the thought!
