two years today

Two years ago today I was finally released from the hospital (the bill, ironically, was also paid off this month!!)

scrubbed my hands and arms till they were clean as a whistle

and held my baby for the first time

(Unfortunately, it'll be another 5 days before he's released from the Santa Barbara hospital... So sweet and beautiful and a stark contrast to the IV in his head, the food tube taped to his cheek and inserted in his nose, and to the permanent band-aid on his heel for the routine blood tests. It was a good day bringing him home!)
