The End

So I've had this habit since I was a little girl that involves reading the end of the book first, then reading from the beginning to the end. There's just something reassuring in knowing the end before getting all wrapped up in something that's going to have a horrible ending. There are a few things that have ended for me lately:

  • In Great Falls, I had cable and instantly was hooked to Gilmore Girls... but then I moved here and didn't have cable and so fell behind. Well, I am one lucky girl because Char will watch anything and was more than happy to buy me season after season and snuggle on the couch watching them to catch me back up to the lives of Lorelai & Rori. (That was when we were "rich" and I was working.) Long story short, I asked my sister to indulge me and fill me in on how the last season goes and how it all ends. Char was abhorred but I like knowing if it'll be worth me saving my little "splurge money" and buying the 7th season (thanks for the understanding, Amber!). In the mail comes an offer for a free month of Netflix and voila!, we've decided to get one disc at a time in the mail and end the saga once and for all. This weekend was the last DVD. Char's a little ticked by how it all ended. I on the other hand, already knew most of the outcome, just not the details, and am satisfied with how it ends:)
  • I was the maid of honor for a friend's wedding a few years back even though I knew it was a relationship on shaky ground. I've tried countless times to encourage her and show her Christ. Char & I prayed for them but knew it would take a miracle for it to survive. She delivered her first baby last month and I'm sorry to say she filed for divorce last week. It breaks my heart that some things in life you see coming~ but hope and pray the ending would change~ and it doesn't.
  • Another thing that's ended: Char finished the turtle pond! Thomas & Timothy are loving the new place and now it's my turn to find the right plants for the right spot and make it "homier" for them:)
